DYscussions

Last week was another exciting week; our club hosted another Inter City meeting of all Rotary Clubs of La Union. More than a hundred Rotarians attended the meeting, showing their interest in meeting our foreign guests. Our guests, the second GSE Team, from Victoria, Australia was headed by Rotarian Past President Frank Martin, with him were Bernadette, Polly, Neil and Brendan. Their group truly showed us a lot of very interest things to know about Australia, its culture, and biodiversity, which is very unique in the world. Truly they came prepared as there presentation was the first I’ve seen for the past years we hosted GSE Team.

During that week, we took turns with the other Rotary clubs in touring the GSE team around the city and its neighboring towns, they seem to be interested in a lot of environmental concerns especially that of the programs of San Fernando City and the Province.

Last Friday, we took the Australian GSE teams back to Manila at 5:00AM, where they met District Governor Mark Go. I would like to

thank PDG Ces for accompanying me and Treasurer Arnel for providing the vehicle (or Van).

During my absence, we had several projects for that day, like the pig dispersal for RVC of Namtutan, seven recipients were given two piglets each. With their new leadership in the person of Mrs. Lourdes Everett, I’m sure she will be very instrumental in reviving the oldest RVC in the Philippines, she had been very active in all the aspects of the community and hopefully, we will be successful. During the dispersal, VP Rex Mendoza represented the club and I would like to thank him.

That same day, the second batch of Medical Equipment Repair Training finished their first module with a short turnover ceremony at Lorma.

Today, we will be having a special election for the two vacated position of the incoming board of directors, I would advice the general membership to open their minds and vote wisely. I know that our club has a lot of potential leaders who can further advance our achievements in the coming years ahead.
