We have certainly learned a lot during our Governor's visit last week. Many comments and suggestions were given to further improve the goals and projects in our four avenues of service. We have seen that there are still a lot of rooms for improvements. Not because we garnered the top club awards for the past two years, doesn't mean we're now on easy street. It certainly meant more obstacle and challenges lie ahead of us, especially on membership growth. It's already a big challenge to maintain such a large number of members at 60, what if we reach 85, like what Governor Mark is challenging us. During our one on one talk with the Governor, membership growth was on top of my agenda. How to keep our growth steady, and I mean steady upward and not steady at 60+ members every year. Somehow our club projects an image of being elite and very demanding on its members (especially to maintain our 100% attendance). Not to mention very choosy on who joins our club. This in a way discourages potential new members that can contribute and further enhance our services to the community. On the other hand, requiring 100% atten

dance on our members is what brought us to the top spot in the first place. It's the very reason why our club has good fellowship with one another, our Past Presidents always say, "If the club has good fellowship, everything else follows…". But in order to know if a potential member will be an asset to the club, we need to take some calculated risk and try our best to develop these new members into good Rotarians. We ourselves as a club will determine the outcome of a new member. We are trying very hard to get the "Cream of the Crop" in our society, people of high profile. But the same question applies to them, "Will they become good Rotarians?" Like what Governor Mark said "Good or Bad Rotarians is an end product of the club's membership development". So I would like to appeal to each member for you to bring in a friend (or your best friend) to join our club. Lets try to hit the 85 members mark for this rotary year.
And before I end this, I would like to thank the following for joining me in the "Alay Lakad" last Sunday, PP Albert, IPP Jerome, Dir. Jerry, Dir. Alan, Romeo, and Aud. Ruel.
