Last week, we had a very informative speaker in the person of PDG Albino 'Alvin' Gonzales, chairman of the District Nominating Committee, regarding the selection of District Governor Nominee. With our Club being in the Top Club for so many years now, we should at least produce another District Governor. Not that I'm bragging, but surely our Club has more than enough qualified Past Presidents to fill up the District Governor position up to the next decade. It's true that our club has a very rich history and quite a number of accomplishments. So it's only but proper that we share our talents to the district.
Today our guest of honor and speaker is no other than our recently Most Outstanding President of district 3790, our very own IPP Jerome Gaerlan who will share to us his experiences during his trip to our Sister Club of An San, Korea.
Last week was again another busy week, in fact there wasn't a day since Tuesday that we didn't have an activity. Wednesday, we visited most of the different School Districts of District 1 in La Union, starting with Bangar, then Luna, Santol, Balaoan, Bacnotan, and San Juan. We distributed the second set of Gardening tools for all public schools in La Union and to document the water pumps we distributed under Matching Grant. We also had the people from Red Cross to help us out in district 2, they took care of vis

iting Rosario, Sto. Tomas, Agoo, Aringay, and Caba so thank you to VP Rex and his Volunteers. That same day, we also visited Puerto de San Juan, the venue of our 42nd Anniversary celebration on Nov 27, 2001.
Thursday, we visited the School district of Bauang and also documented that water wells given. We also visited Bauang Mayor Martin de Guzman for other possible projects for the municipality. We were also able to get the permission of Mayor Martin to let us hold a Trade Fair in Bauang for the month of December. Thanks to VP Rex, Dir Jun, Dir Jerry and PP Canor for the company!
Friday, we have our fourth Career Guidance Seminar at Saint Louis College's High School. Over 300 graduating high school students were present during the seminar. I'm glad there were a lot of students who asked questions as regards  choosing a career. After the career guidance, we proceeded to the provincial jail to donate eggs courtesy of Dir Jun from his Nutri Egg Farm.
On Saturday, Dir Jun and I had our 3rd Pig Dispersal under our "Porkies for Goodwill" project. Another 14 piglets for 7 recipients of barangay Calabugao were benefited.
Finally Sunday, our club conducted its 2nd Medical Mission in coordination with the Inner Wheel Club and Union Leaf Tobacco Corporation as the sponsoring company. Again, my thanks to the members who were present.
