The selection of our District Governor for Rotary Year 2003-2004 is fast approaching and to shed us some light on the duties and process of selection for District Governor, we have as guest of honor and speaker the chairman of the District Nominating Committee, PDG Albino "Alvin" V. Gonzales. Hopefully he can also give us tips on how to convince PP Albert to be one of the future District Governors of district 3790.
We had a good attendance last week 77% home club. In fact, for the month of October, we have been hitting the above 70% mark for home club attendance, keep up the good work fellow Rotarians!
I would like to congratulate the club's Bowling Team for garnering the 1st Place for Class C category in the recently  concluded YMCA Inter-Civic Bowling Tournament last Wednesday. Despite the shortage of players (or constant absences, I should say) we still managed to land on a good spot. My congrats to
PP Ben Ang as the best player for single handedly leading the club to an astounding comeback in the final games! To the cheering squad lead by Dir Alan for boosting the Team's moral to the very last, congrats, too.
On that same night after the tournament, we got the news that one of the grandchild of PP Ben passed away 4 days after birth. In behalf of the Club, I would like to extend our condolences to his family.
Last week Friday, we have our meeting with the Sangguniang Bayan of Luna where we again presented the Community Based Disaster Management Project for 5 of their barangays. The project was warmly welcomed with some minor revisions to be made in the beneficiaries of this training.
Also on that same day, our club co-sponsored the "Draw and Tell" and Singing contest, in celebration of Children's Month. With us, are the Inner Wheels headed by their

energetic Pres Hailey and IWPP Venus. I would like to extend my appreciation to Dir Alan for representing the club while I was in Luna. I also want to thank Rtn. Romeo Chan, Edward Dy and Asst. Treas. Terry for attending.
Last Saturday was also our meeting with the 5 Barangays of Santo Tomas, La Union for the Community Based Disaster Management Project namely Balaoc, Bay Bay, Damortis, Narvacan, Cabaroan and Raois. You'll notice that there were six instead of five, this was to make sure that if one barangay backs out, we'll still complete the five barangays required for the training. Like before, some barangays did not cooperate. This time we got five out of the six to join us. Meeting with all the participants of Santo Tomas was set on Nov 7 and training will soon follow around Nov 20. Again, my thanks to Dir Alan and VP Rex to accompanying me.
Last Sunday was the meeting with all the participants of Bangar in final preparation for the training proper. A short briefing was given to all the participants with regards to their logistics.
On Sunday, October 28 is our medical mission in Aringay, La Union I would again like to invite everyone to join us in this project.
