RI Board Decision Highlights
Administration

     The Board reviewed and took action on resolutions and proposed enactment that were referred to by the 2001 Council on Legislation.  Most notably, the Board:
● Encourage all clubs to have dual-gender membership;
● Agreed to support a pilot project of "cyber" Rotary clubs, enabling such clubs to conduct activities through electronic communications.
● Discontinued use of Rotary's secondary motto: "He Profits Most Who Serves Best"
     All districts are encouraged to use the nominating committee system for district level elections, with a ballot-by-mail in the event of challenges, and to follow a suggested timetable. In

formation on the new procedures will be distributed to governors.
     In order to avoid any confusion created when the term "service center" is translated into different languages, the Board changed the names of RI's service centers so that they will now all b referred to as "offices," as follows:

  • Rotary International Korea Office
  • Rotary International Japan Office
  • Rotary International South Pacific and Philippines Office
  • Rotary International South Asia Office
  • Rotary International Brazil Office
  • Rotary International Southern South America Office
