Provincial Nutrition Council's Nutri Tula, Nutri Juice making, and Nutri Booth, which culminated the Nutrition Month celebration. As part of our project, which is to create mini forests in all public schools, we have initially requested for 1,000 tree seedlings from Director Ancheta of the DENR. It was approved right away. Launching of this province-wide tree planting will be announced as soon as we get the seedlings. Finally, our third visit to the RVC of Bal Lay. We will initially start distributing piglets for fattening on August 25, 2001. This will be a continuing project where we hope to help more people by giving them additional livelihood to augment their earnings. On Monday, August 6, we will open the second module of our Medical Equipment Training/Repair under our 3H grant. This will be held at the Lorma Colleges Auditorium, and everyone is enjoined to attend.

The home club attendance last week was very high, over 85%. Like the previous weeks, we were hitting above the 80% mark. I'm very happy to report that we had a 100% attendance for July. We were off to a very good start and I want to extend my sincerest thanks to all members for religiously attending our meetings. We started our meeting on time last Tuesday. Last week, we attended the inductions of RC Midtown Tarlac, RC Metro Pangasinan Millennium, RC Metro San Fernando(LU), and RC Mangaldan. Again, I would like to thank the people who accompanied me. Last week I announced two good reasons for our club to rejoice: One was the letter from International Aid granting us a $10,000 project fund for our proposed comprehensive disaster management and preparedness training in the community level; The other was the formal donation by our dear PDG Ces of a 410 sq m lot by the national highway for our future Rotary Service Center. Isn't our club truly fortunate to have a very generous man in the person of PDG Ces Mendoza? Although words are certainly not enough to express my gratitude to PDG Ces, just the same, my heartfelt thanks in behalf of all the members and officers. THANK YOU MANONG CES!!! Last Tuesday, we sponsored prizes for the

Congratulations to PD Ray Espinosa who was inducted as President of the La Union Medical Society (LUMS) last July 30. I'm sure after his term in LUMS he will be more than ready to be President of our club. Good Luck PD Ray! I am requesting all bowling players of last year to once again carry the colors of our club to this year's YMCA Inter-Civic Bowling Tournament that will start on August 15. For those who want to join the team, we have 3 more slots open. If you are interested please approach me so we can include you in this year's line-up and enjoy the fun and prestige of playing for our club. This column is open for any announcement you would like our members to know, be it Rotary related or non-Rotary. I will be more than happy to help you.
