PREXY'S NOOK
PRES. JEROME GAERLAN

GUEST OF HONOR & SPEAKER
Atty. Florence Marie G. Ulep

In the movie, 'The Man Who Understood Women', Mel Gibson suddenly develops extrasensory powers and becomes capable of reading the minds of members of the fairer sex. A typical 'male chauvinist', the experience changes him as he realizes that the 'daughters of Eve' do not exactly consider him 'God's gift to women'.

I'm not a 'male chauvinist', but I could certainly use dome 'enlightenment' as far as women's thought processes are concerned. A lot of women say 'no' when they actually say 'yes'. Many prefer to keep silent and resort to 'body language' to convey a message.

So it comes as a refreshing change that today our Guest of Honor and Speaker, Atty. Florence Ulep of the DOLE, is a woman who is articulate and outspoken. She means what she says and says what she means. An exponent of 'women's rights' and 'gender issues', her presence here is our Club's way of observing 'International Women's Month'.

I'm also reminding Club Members that tomorrow, March 21, from 7-7:30 A.M., we shall be conducting our Vitamin A Supplementation Project. Try to find out from our Project Coordinator, VP Tante Licudine, and our International Service Director, Jun Tio, to what group you are assigned.

Lastly, I am appealing to Club Members to support our 'Circus Show' project. Front row tickets are with Lydia. If you are unable to attend, just buy a ticket for the raffle draw, and you can donate your 'entry pass' to the SPED school and make a 'special child' happy.
