ROTARY-IN-ACTION

TUESDAY THAT WAS
DAVE PARKMAN

The always prompt, PP TONY, was the Master of Ceremonies the day's meeting. After asking Pres. JEROME to call the meeting to order, PP TONY then asked Rtn. ROBERT to lead in the opening prayer and 4-Way Test. Rtn. ROBERT was given the unofficial title "Monsignor" because of this "saintly" prayer. Treas. ERNIE then led us in the popular rendition of the Pambansang Awit.
Once again special "live" music was provided for by the Villa Estrella Beach Resort in the person of Miss Jane Manuel, who was accompanied to the meeting by Ms. Margie Muhlfield. Jane did a wonderful job entertaining the Rotarians with her gift of singing. And once again we say "Thank You" to Villa Estrella for providing the "live" entertainment.
YOURS TRULY stumbled through the Welcome and Greetings trying to pronounce all the names properly. Special congratulations goes to wedding anniversary celebrants Rtn. ARNEL and Jose Chanpinco. Rtn. ALEX did a wonderful job with the always popular Friendship Session. The question was "How do you know yourself as a Rotarian." He asked several Rotarians the exact date of their induction into Rotary and who their sponsor was. The exact date is sometimes hard to remember. Most of us can remember the month and the year and the sponsor, or at least we should be able to.
After Pres. JEROME brought us up-to-date on what has been happening in the world of Rotary, especially as RCSFU is concerned, he asked VP TANTE to talk about the Vitamin A dispersal program and announced the various assigned groups with their respective leaders. This is a wonderful endeavor and something that we can all be proud to be part of.
Sec. DIEGO, who happened to be a special friend of our Guest Speaker, was asked to introduced our Guest Speaker, Ruperto P. Somera, PhD, D.B.A. C.P.A. Dr. Somera is the OIC Regional Director of the Bureau of Internal Revenue Region I. By the very appearance and speech of our Guest Speaker, one could tell that he is not only a very educated man, but also very committed and compassionate about what he is doing. Oneccould not help but also notice that Dr. Somera is also a deeply religious person who relies on his God for guidance, strength, and wisdom. Thank you, Dr. Somera for visiting our Club. We hope and pray that you will be able to come back some day soon.
After a short open forum, PP DAN gave a very good response and the meeting was adjourned sometime past 2:00 P.M
