RI Board Decisions
Membership and Extension
The Board approved a plan for achieving minimum standards in all Rotary clubs. Effective 1 July 2001, clubs that will be regarded as functioning effectively are those that pay their per capita dues, meet on a regular basis, ensure that all members subscribe to The Rotarian or an approved regional magazine and implement service projects either locally or in other communities. The plan offers a number of options to clubs deemed not to be functioning effectively in terms of the above criteria. Such clubs can choose to terminate voluntarily, consolidate with an agreeable nearby club, cooperate with Rotary leaders to strengthen the club or request a presidential exemption from the club minimum standards for a period of up to three years.
