Continuation...

Finally the Club extends its symphaties to our members who lost something during the fire, which hit the 'Mabanag Compound' last Sarturday, namely Director Rex, PP Bob Kaiser and Past Editor Romy De Castro. I was leaving for Manila when the fire started and so I was able to pass by the 'Red Cross' Bldg. to pick up our Rotary Club's property, notably  our computer and printer. The fire brigade was however, able to douse the flame before it consumed the Red Cross Bldg, so we still have an office. I would give Director Rex Mendoza a few minutes of my President's time to make some appeals on behalf of the Red Cross.
I guess a person's life is really a combination of  ups and downs.  Of course, this is easy to say if you are not the one affected. Nevertheless, those with Faith view setbacks as 'cleansing and strengthening' experiences. And also, personal wisdom develops not only from the successes we have experienced but also from accepting the misfortune which comes our way.  I have a verse which encapsulates this thought.

" Ebbed in sorrow, I  remember
that the coolness of the night
and the warmth of the morrow
brings the dew of delight "
