The regular meeting right before the official District Governor's visit to the Club is traditionally a Club Assembly to prepare for the special visit. Last Tuesday meeting was no exception. It was a Club Assembly. But let me start from the beginning
..
The meeting seemed to have gotten off to a low start It was 12:44 by my watch when Pres. JEROME called the meeting to order. As is the usual custom during our Club Assemblies, all the participants of the program are the Directors and other Club Officers. The Day Chairman and Master of Ceremonies, A/Sec. FRANK, then it was 12:44 by my watch when Pres. JEROME called the meeting to order. As is the usual custom during our Club Assemblies, all the participants of the program are the Directors and other Club Officers. The Day Chairman and Master of Ceremonies, A/Sec. FRANK, then a. JUN to lead us in the prayer and 4-Way Test. A/Sec. FRANK "filled in" with the leading of the Pambansang Awit
as any good DC & MC should.
During the luncheon period I noticed that Dir. REX was going around selling "numbers" for twenty pesos. I found out later that it was for a raffle to raise extra funds for the club. For twenty pesos a Rotarian could purchase a number. Then later Dir. REX would draw numbers out of a basket and if he draws your number, guess what, you win a prize. It is all done in fun and it is a good way to raise funds for the Club.
VP TANTE was called upon to do the Welcome and Greetings. There was only one celebrant present, and that's YOURS TRULY who represented his "better half", Ann PAULA. Paula was celebrating her un-teenth birthday. A/Sec. FERANK gave our President a new title when he introduced him as the "no longer nervous President." It is true that Pres. JEROME looked calm, cool and collected during his President's Time.
Dir. JERRY is gaining a reputation as an innovator. His fining session dealt with the subject of Rotary awareness to see if the Rotarians knew the Rotary classification and Committee chairmanships of other Rotarians in the Club. If you knew the right answer, you did not have to pay. But, if you, did not know the answer, well that is a different story, as they say.
During the Club Assembly each of our Directors gave well-prepared reports concerning the plans, goals, and projects for RY 2000-2001. The overhead projector was used so that Rotarians could visibly chart the growth of each Avenue of Service. All in all, it was a very good presentation by a very well prepared set of Directors. Namely: Director JERRY Parlan
. Club Service Director REX Mendoza
.. Community Service Director RICHARD Dy
.. Vocational Service Director JUN Tio
International The meeting was rather long, but it was finally adjourned at 2:22 P.M.
