TUESDAY THAT WAS
Rtn. DAVE PARKMAN

One interesting thing that I noticed  about last week's meeting was that we started five minutes late and ended five minutes late and that our Guest Speaker only had fifteen minutes to speak with no time for an open forum.  I thought this was kind of strange since our Guest Speaker, Dr. Wilhelmina L. Borje, is at the helm of RCSFU's Flagship Project for RY 2000-2001.  Dr. Borje is the Principal of the North Central School and SPED School.  She definitely should have been given more time. May I recommend that we invite her back again to expand further on the work that is being  done at SPED

Rtn. BONG prayed a "mighty". Prayer that was right on target and Rtn. ALLAN S. very graciously led us in the Pambansang Awit.  PP PAQUITO's job as the official greeter was easy as there was only one guest and no celebrants…and that means no ice cream. After a very long luncheon period two new members were inducted into our Club.  Rtn. ALEX was introduced by his sponsor PP CRES and Rtn. RIC was introduced  by his sponsor Pres  JEROME.  It was stated that PP BOB gave one ;of the best charges to the new members.   It was very good, PP BOB.  Pres. JEROME officially inducted the new members into the world of Rotary.

Since our Guest Speaker was an educator, Rtn. RAY E. limited his questions during the Fining Session to the subject of "Children's Books."  It is surprising how much we can remember from our childhood.  Pres. JEROME did discuss about the SPED project during his President's Time. A wish list of items needed were also presented to the Rotarians.  I wish  that we would have had time to discuss with our Speaker about the priority needs of the school maybe next time…

PP VIR did  a very good job with his introduction of our Guest Speaker, though it was a little long, but never the less good.  Because of time restraints, Dr. Borje could only briefly tell us about her work at the SPED.  Again, she made an excellent presentation.  Thank you Dr. Borje for taking time out of your busy schedule to be with us.  Oh, by the way, I almost failed to mention, our Club presented Dr. Borje with a check of 2,000 pesos to help fund a special event at the school on July 28th.

Rtn. TERRY "filled in" with the official response and the meeting was adjourned at 2:05 P.M.
