TYPES OF ROTARY MEMBERSHIP
HONORARY MEMBERSHIP
This type of membership is the highest distinction a Rotary Club can confer. It is exercised only in exceptional cases to recognize an individual for unusual service and contributions to Rotary and the society. Honorary members are entitled to attend all meetings and enjoy all privileges of the club.
ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP
A member of a club who has been elected to membership under a classification of business or profession is classified as active member. An active member has all the obligations, responsibilities, and privileges of membership as provided in the Constitution and By - Laws of RI.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP
A club may elect one additional active member with the same classification as that of the proposer.
* Former active members of any Rotary Club who are actively engaged at a place of business or who resides within the territorial limits of the club may be eligible for additional active membership.
PAST SERVICE MEMBERSHIP
A retired person who was an active member in a Rotary Club who held a qualifying position before retirement is eligible for past service membership. If, however, his retirement from business or professional life comes after he has ceased to be a member of the Club, he is not eligible to past service membership.
