AWARDEES

TUESDAY THAT WAS
RTN. DAVE PARKMAN

Hello fellow Rotarians. YOURS TRULY is "back in the saddle" again after several weeks of absence. May I offer special thanks and appreciation to Rotarians REGGIE and ROMY de who very graciously "filled in" for me. Thanks Rotarians REGGIE and ROMY De for a job well done.

The meeting started at 12:40, a little late according to RCSFU standards, but you know it is summer time and things have a way of moving kind of slow in summer time. PP TONY was the Day Chairman and Master of Ceremonies. Pres. JEROME called the meeting to order and the day's meeting was off and running. Rtn. ROBERT led us in the opening prayer and 4-Way Test while PP CRES did a great job leading us in the Pambansang Awit. Who was it that said the "older Rotarians" couldn't sing?…..

After a short luncheon break, Rtn. ARNEL, officially welcomed all of our guests and celebrants. PP DAN was present to stand in for his spouse Pepita, who was celebrating her birthday. And guess what, none other than Secretarial Aide LYDIA was presented with a special birthday gift from the Club on her "special day", with love and appreciation for a job well done, not to mention a little kiss from our Club President.

It was Sec. DIEGO who asked the questions during the Friendship Session. The questions dealt with the government and plunder of the country, what else. After all, it is election time. As usual, Rotarians knew but few of the answers, and, as usual it was all done in fun. During Pres. JEROME's time he greeted the guest speaker and brought us up-to-date on the latest happenings of the past and future.

PP DAN had the honor of introducing our Guest of Honor and Speaker who was Mr. Roberto "Butch" C. Arceo, CESO V, Regional Director, MARINA Regional Office 1 & 2, Northern Luzon Maritime Regional Office. All in all, it seems to be rather a long title. We found out that Mr. Arceo spoke on why San Fernando City needs Maritime Industry Authority, which is the "regulator and licensee" for all water transportation in the country. Mr. Arceo has good plans and goals for Maritime progress in our Region. A job well done, Mr. Arceo. Oh, by the way, it was discovered that Mr. Arceo is a potential member of RCSFU…...
After a short open forum, YOURS TRULY gave the appropriate response. The meeting was adjourned at 1:50 P.M.
