ur Meeting Room was doubled in size to accommodate the bulging crowd of Rotarians and visitors that came for the special occasion. Yes, my friends, it was the Official Visit of our District Governor, Alvin Gonzales to RCSFU. Befitting to the occasion, all of the proper arrangement had been made. Rotarians were dressed up in their uniforms and the Anns were present for the special event.
Dir ALI, the Day Chairman and Master of Ceremonies seemed eager to get the meeting started. And why not? The room was full of people and all the dignitaries were properly seated when Pres. ALBERT was asked to call the meeting to order. VP ARNOLD led us in the Pambansang Awit and Rtn. REGGIE did a wonderful job with the prayer and 4-Way Test.
It seemed like the luncheon period was shortened to allow Dir. RICHARD ample time to welcome our guest and visiting Rotarians and there were many, as one would expect on this special day. PP CRES was the only birthday celebrant along with wedding anniversary celebrants PP ARSING & PP CHING ( their 42nd ). Thanks for the double scoop of ice cream guys. We needed that.
Pres. ALBERT cut his time a little short. I know that he gave a much longer and more detailed report earlier in the day at the Club Assembly, along with our other Officers and Directors. Dir REX dealt with questions about health and other issues as he extracted much money from the Rotarians during the Fining Session, but that is the way that it is suppose to be. Rtn. ALLAN surprised everybody with his good singing voice as he led us in the Rotary Song.
Of course, it was none other than PDG CES who introduced our Guest of Honor and Speaker - District Governor Alvin Gonzales. Gov. ALVIN was full of praise for our Club and its accomplishments and plans for this Rotary Year. He spoke words of encouragement to us to keep up the good work and continue to be the leading Rotary Club in District 3790.
Pres. ALBERT gave the appropriate response and then presented the plaque of appreciation and other gift to our special guest.
