ur warm welcome to our Speaker for today, Joseph " Joedums" Dumuk, District Chairman on Vocational Service.  Surely, the information you will be sharing with us will further encourage each and every one of us to continuously uphold the objectives of this Avenue of Service.
Although Vocational Month falls on the month of October, one of the many projects under this Service is Career Guidance and incidentally, we have already conducted several Career Guidance Seminar to at least three ( 3 ) schools here in San Fernando.  The most recent of which was held at DMMMSU last September 29,1999, for the benefit of its high school students.  I asked for the presence of our Baby Rotarian Diego Ledda for the said activity and it turned out that the event was in itself a surprise for we had never expected that our Baby Rotarian would volunteer to speak and share his ideas.  Without any preparation, he delivered his impromptu speech with suave and confidence that not only the students who were captivated but also all who were present.  We SALUTE you Rtn. Diego Ledda.  Actually, I am impressed with all the new Rotarians that we have since they are not only very willing to learn but are indeed very willing to share their ideas or areas they are expert of.  I hope you keep that enthusiasm always as days and years go by.

On the other hand, the Rotarians who call themselves New Generation Rotarians a.k.a.
Rotaboys are the guys you should look forward to.  They do not only excel on their fields of interest but they are now on the verge of discovering their talents in Directorship, Producer, Videography/ Production and Documentation.  For all you know, they are now trying to create something very special ( which I do not want yet to divulge ) for presentation on our 40th Anniversary and Christmas Program.  They are really devoting their time and effort to the maximum, that the nominees for the Metro Manila Film Festival would go for a run on their presentation.  Considering that they spent so much time and effort for this presentation, some might end up jobless after this event, but, I hope they find consolation in knowing that they might be nominated and eventually emerge as winners in the next Metro Manila Film Festival.  I am certain also that this will make all members, especially, all Past Presidents & Charter Members be proud of.  I believe that with the experience and ideas of the Past Presidents and Seniors Rotarians coupled with the energy of the younger Rotarians, we will be able to transcend our club goals to our success.  As an added inspiration to all of you, I am reproducing in whole, the letter coming from our District Chairman on Vocational Service on his observation of our Club which will surely make each and every one of you doubly proud of our club.

September 11,1999

Dear Albert,

It is very heartening to receive your Accomplishment Report in Vocational Service for July-August. Among the more than 80 Clubs in the District, RC SFLU, Inc. is the first to let me know of what they have done in Vocational service, so far.  You are showing that you will indeed make a difference in La Union.  With a membership like yours and dynamic leader like you and Dir. Jerome, we do not see any reason why our district will not be able to rise to the challenge of R.I. Pres. CARLO RAVIZZA and District Governor ALVIN GONZALES.

My warmest regards to all the members and officers of your club. Here's to a fruitful Rotary Year!

Yours in Rotary,

Joseph Dumuk
