e last week of April should have been dedicated as Rotary PDG Rudy Nisce Foundation Week because it coincides with PDG Rudy Nisce's death anniversary.
Apparently, an informal request from his family that it would be best, if such dedication be done in time of his birthday which the board has unanimously approved. Thus, we have set the week that falls on his birthday as the official Rotary PDG Rudy Nisce Week. In addition, we are privilege to hear from the beneficiaries of PDG Rudy Nisce Foundation.
I firmly believe that the main reason why our club has created a foundation for PDG Rudy Nisce was because during that time he emulated the true bearings of a real Rotarian. A Rotarian whose words and deeds were highly respected and regarded by his constituents. A Rotarian whose dedication and consistency had brought him to the pedestal of being called a GOOD LEADER.
The example he had set as a leader and the qualities he had shown are the same qualities our R.I. President wanted to convey in his message published in the April issue of the Governor's Monthly Letter.

According to Pres. Ravizza, "there are many qualities that could be said to characterize Rotarians. Strong moral character, high ethical standards, dedication to service and a tolerant attitude to name a few". He also said that Rotary urgently needs strong leaders who represent the Rotary ideals and who can lead by example. Leading by example means setting high standards and living up to them and encouraging others to do the same. Rotary's future depends on developing a quality membership. But quality must begin at the top.
Pres. Ravizza is also asking that all Rotary leaders to consider the example they are providing to other Rotarians and to the whole world at large as well as the impact it has on our organization. Our leaders must be knowledgeable about Rotary so they can educate new members, must be committed to service so that they can encourage all members to be enthusiastic in all projects.
I echo the same sentiments as our R.I. President, that as Rotarians, we must consistently serve as models of dedication and integrity to be called Rotarians.
