en I was growing up, like all kids, I firmly believed that the favorite
pastime of my mom was misunderstanding me !  I fought with her at the
drop of a hat.  I believed that my individuality, my opinions, my
feelings had nothing in common with those of my mom.  But little did I
realize what I called "my" feelings and "my" opinions were there
because this lady had gone through the trouble, the pain, so that I
could see the light of day.

When I came home crying because I'd been
engaged in a brawl due to some bullies  in school, it was she who took me in her arms and told me that
in this world, there's both good and bad and running away or being
scared of the bad was not the solution and that strength was in the
spiritual mind, not in the sinews.  I only wish I'd told her more often that I
loved her... Now, when I look back, I seriously think "God made man in
his own image" that stuff is all wrong.  God made mothers in his own image ! ( That's actually a joke... of course .)

And my hats off to the folks who thought of Mother's Day (14th May)
because if anyone deserves a day dedicated entirely to her, it's MOM !
!
