l the important people were seated in the right place and then the Day Chairman and Master of Ceremonies Auditor ROMY C. asked Pres. ALBERT to call the day's meeting to order. Rtn. FREDERICK started us off with the Prayer and that was followed by the 4-Way Test. It was Rtn. SAMMY who led us in the Pambansang Awit. You could say that the meeting was started by so and so. Just a little joke to get things started. Sec/PP TONY "filled in" as the official Greeter. There were several visitors present. Among them were three representatives of International Aide Ministries in the US who were guests of PP RUFI. The celebrants were all present for the meeting. Special birthday congratulations goes to Sec/PP TONY and Incoming Director JERRY. The wedding celebrants were IP JEROME and his Ann JEI. Thanks guys, for the double scoop of ice cream...
During the Secretary's Report, Sec/PP TONY informed us of the Inter-City Meeting of March 2. It was also announced that March 2 has been proclaimed an official Holiday throughout the Province of La Union in celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Province. During his Classification Talk, Incoming Director JUN T. gave a good advertisement for HONDA,

not the motorcycles but the cars. I think, ID JUN T. is a car salesman or dealer, or something like that. It was PP JIM who once again had the honors of trying to catch the unsuspecting and had to fined Rotarians during the Friendship Session. His topic was "the environment". You could be surprised to learn how much we do not actually know or understand about the environment.
Pres. ALBERT told of many events and seminars that will be happening in the next few weeks. Rtn. JERRY then told us about the forthcoming 'Sportsfest" for RCSFU which will be taking place on March 25. I just hope that I am on the winning team....
PD ERNIE's introduction of the Guest Speaker was rather long, but I suppose well deserved. We had an excellent speaker in the person of Mr. Victor J. Ancheta, Regional Executive Director, Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources, Region I. Dir. Ancheta talked about everything from log bans to jellyfish and by the time he had finished we were all convinced that we can and must do something to help preserve our environment. We also discovered that we know what the problem is, but we are just not sure about how to go about solving that problem. But...we must do something. There were several very good questions asked during the open forum. This was followed by a "short and sweet" response by YOURS TRULY. The meeting was ad

had always been perplexed by the Vizconde massacre not only because the convicts belonged to the upper level of our society, but because of the many facets of the story that had reached us and the long trails.
Today, we are privileged to have with us one of the Prosecutors of the Vizconde Massacre, no other than Atty. Pete Principe. For sure, our Guest of Honor & Speaker today will surely be able to enlighten us on this matter.
As we have left the portals of the month of February, a noteworthy event took place at Lorma College when we conducted the On-The-Spot Essay Writing Contest about the 4 Way Test held last February 25, 2000 with PP Joseph Dumuk, District Chairman on Vocational Service.
In this respect, we would like to thank the presence of PP Joedums, the keynote Speaker and Chairman of the Board of Judges of the recently concluded On-the-Spot Essay Writing Contest. Let us also thank and acknowledge the presence of Rotarian Gia Dumuk, also a noted Contributor to the widely read Phil. Daily inquirer for acceding to our invitation to be one of the Board of Judges of the said Contest.

Angelita Depalco of Saint Louis College, garnered the First prize, Miss Venus Cruz and Miss Maureen Rimorin, both of Lorma College and were the 2nd and 3rd prize winners, respectively.
In like manner, I would like to appeal to the general membership on the following matters of concern;
