It was DOCTOR'S DAY again at the regular luncheon meeting of the Rotary Club of San Fernando (LU), Inc.  All of the program participants were doctors, though not necessarily medical doctors.  It was our Day Chairman and MC DR. ( PP ) ANDY who made sure all the important people were seated on the proper places.  DR. ( PRES. ) ALBERT rang the big bell and the meeting was off and running.

DR. ( RTN ) EDWARD DY ( whoever he is ) was absent, so, DR. ( PP ) PAQUITO "filled in" and led us in the Pambansang Awit and YOURS TRULY, DR. ( RTN ) DAVE, "filled in" with an instant prayer and a prayerful 4-Way Test
.
It was a short time of fellowship and food. DR. ( RTN ) PAQUING was in a hurry to welcome our guests and celebrants for the day.  PP SILVER celebrated his 39th plus birthday and PP DAN celebrated his 56th wedding anniversary.  Congratulations to both and thanks for the double scoop of ice cream guys!   We needed that.

The Friendship Session was led by "fill in" Fine Master DR. ( RTN ) TIM.  Being a "filled in" he did not have time to prepare for the hardest job on the program, but like a good Rotarian he said, "Yes!"  Those sitting in the wrong chair were heavily fined as they should be.  Perhaps we are beginning to learn a lesson.  DR. ( PRES. ) ALBERT informed us that the Club had 100% attendance for the month of July.  Let us see if we can keep up this excellent record.  DR ( RTN ) TANTE led us in the Rotary Song "Sing Rotarians Sing", complete with actions.

Our MC & DC DR. ( PP ) ANDY picked himself to introduce the Guest Speaker.  I think it is because they are very good friends.  Our Guest of Honor and Speaker was none other than the Director of the National Kidney Institute, DR. ENRIQUE T. ONA.  If you remember, he was the one who did the first Kidney transplant.  As expected, he spoke on the subject of Kidney transplantation.  Dr. Ona encouraged everyone to be an organ donor.  I heartily second the motion.  Someone made the statement, "In death we give so that others may live" T hank you, Dr. Ona for taking time out of your very busy schedule to be with us
.
DR. ( RTN ) RAY E. had a very nice response and the day's meeting was adjourned at 2:00 P.M. and we all went back out into the beautiful sunshine.
